A very great day.

Good morning church!
It was Cookie Sunday this past week. A great time of fellowship in the open air with cookies, fresh fruit and coffee. I got one cookie! But it is all about the visiting in the sunshine of San Carlos. You meet the best people here. However, the next cookie Sunday is January 23. If you don’t bring cookies, it will be Fresh Fruit Sunday. Think about that!

Coming up right away is Grief Share on Mondays January 17 at 2:22 pm at the church. Speak to or email us to contact Christie for more information.

The Woman’s Ministry is beginning a series “Jesus and Women,” January 19 at 10:30 at the church. Email us or sign up Sunday at the church. The material is so good, I may slip into the balcony and listen to them!

Our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). February 24, 6:00 pm at the church. Come and receive reports from 2021 and hear the vision for 2022. There will be Missions, Finance, Youth, Children and Pastor’s reports will be presented, along with an affirmation time for our new deacons and elders. As you think and pray about additions to the leadership team, and nominations, we ask you not to discuss the nomination with the one you are nominating. We are also grateful for those who considered the nominations given them, but some may think that this was not the right timing for their lives and may say, “no not at this time.” Any questions regarding their possible service should be directed in writing to an elder prior to February 9.

With the upcoming AGM, this week you saw an information table regarding volunteers and a qualifications handout, along with a nomination ballot. Please consider, with prayer, volunteering at SCCC. There are many ways to volunteer at SCCC.

The financial statement for December 2021 is available. If you would like a copy, email us at office@sancarloscommunitychurch.com

We are updating some of the website pages. One of those is the Directory. You may be asked to have your picture taken for the Directory. Please say “yes” or perhaps say, “Next week” and we will make those arrangements.

It was amazing and a little expected, that on Sunday after service as we talked on the church veranda, how people took time to choose their words more carefully. The message just the hour before had been about the power of our words and how words can build up or teardown. Some people have the ability to walk in a room and just light up the room. It isn’t their good looks but the demeanor of their presence that does this. They walk in and people are happy to see them. These are the people who almost always have something good to say. Their heart just leaks good words. While others walk in and it is like a wolf in a sheep pen. Everyone seems to move to the far wall. That person just makes everyone in the room groan under the weight of their presence. These are the complainers and negative people. The presence around them is always like a cloudy day. Their heart is leaking the negativity of their spirit. It is by our words! We can build up or tear down. Which person will I be today?

In other news:
We will be open for public worship services Sunday. STRICT regulations are being kept regarding facemasks. Service will also be LIVE on Facebook. You do not need an account. But as San Carlos is growing and it adds more demand on the available wifi service providers, it affects the upload of our video feed. If the “live” feed you are receiving is interrupted we encourage you to please return and go the page and bring up “Videos” and you will find the recorded video for each Sunday.
