San Carlos Community Church |
|
The purpose and objectives of San Carlos Community Church shall be to provide
for the worship of God, the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, the
leading of people to the personal knowledge of their salvation through faith in
the Lord Jesus Christ, the administration of the two ordinances of the New
Testament, and the spreading of the Gospel in the community and throughout the
world.
MISSIONS: We believe in supporting missions!
We, the local church, believe in involvement in reaching our local and
extended community. The following missions are supported financially by
SCCC or have an SCCC member involved in their missions work.
SCCC monthly supported Missionaries –
Ranchito de Cristo/King's Kids Orphanage
- Jesse & Jenny Navarro serve the Guaymas area and beyond through a variety
of ministries. Their ministry, known as Ranchito de Cristo, houses
ministry teams, deliverance ministry, local church retreats and is the home
of the Navarros. The ministry also includes King’s Kids Orphanage
which is a two family dwelling (for the time being) accommodating eight
children and two house parents per dwelling. The on-site medical/dental
clinic is designed to meet the needs of the community as well as the
orphanage.
Heather Hicks Ministry -
Heather joined
Harvest
in late-2004 and is serving as a trainer, curriculum developer, and a field
coordinator. Prior to Harvest, Heather worked with Youth With A
Mission for 15 years as a trainer of trainers and a curriculum developer
for YWAM leaders. Her other past work experiences include: a junior
high teacher, YMCA director and a business management training
specialist. Heather’s passion is equipping leaders to expand the Kingdom of
God.
Rob & Wendy Penner and Natcho & Jetza Camacho
- work with The Baptist Missionary Society to Latin Americas of Canada whose
vision is church planting. Presently church planting is being completed in
the Sonora River Valley area, where both missionaries are serving.
Each year the mission house hosts national and international folks bridging
the cultural gap. Natcho and Jetza serve in the town of Banamichi in the
Sonora River Valley. Their local ministry deals with felt needs, focusing
primarily on bringing individuals into a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ.
Hosting international groups
who come to Mexico to serve on a short-term mission. Such teams hosted are
optical, medical, dental,
Jesus Film, youth groups, and
work teams.
Job Sierra Family Ministry
- Job evangelizes and church plants ministers in the mountains of Sonora and
Chihuahua, being the first gospel light in this area. He and his family
reside in Guaymas, making regular trips to the area. Job has seen many
respond to Christ and is committed to discipling these new believers.
Art & Brenda Koenes - Casa de Esperanza (Home of Hope) host international teams desiring to reach out to the Mexican community. The vision for the ministry is to train servant leaders who know God, to model His character, and to build into others the life changing principles of His word. Local Mexican church conferences and youth events are also hosted at the centre.
Wally Love - an ongoing
community mission of family support, food, and clothing distribution, as
well as small group bible studies.
A large portion of Wally’s work is with the Hedges and Highways Ministry;
they visit the nearby migrant field workers camps weekly, sharing the
gospel. People are brought from Southern Mexico to these work camps, usually
for six month terms.
At preaching services, or gospel film presentations, as many as 150-500
people may attend; at follow-up bible studies and preaching services,
attendance ranges from 30-60 people. They also host bible studies with the
new converts. The objective is to win people to Christ and disciple them to
return as radiant lights to their own communities.
Kenny Van Kirk – an MD,
and his family, works in Northern Mexico with an Indian tribe.
Theirs is a remote mission very much away from conveniences.
Other SCCC supported ministries –
Annual "Backpacks for Jesus" Ministry
Provides needy children in our area with Christmas backpacks each year;
packs are filled with school, hygiene, and personal items. A new goal is
established each year; over 400 were given in
2006.
Avoid time crunches at Christmas; get your pack(s) started early. Each pack
is supplied a bible. SCCC members provide one or more “Backpacks for Jesus”
as their personal effort to spread Christ's Good News by meeting children's
needs.
START NOW! Enlist friends and neighbors; enlist home churches.
