Good Morning to You,
Again, Lynn and I are having a party. This one is the “OVER 50” potluck meal at our home, Tuesday July 16 @ 6p.m. Proof of age will be required. (to be sure you are 50 years of age!) We had the “Under “50 party already! I suspect this party will have some gate crashers.
VBS: It is Vacation Bible School. It took two days to get my feet back to normal. Wow did we have fun. I really enjoyed it. It was so very productive. There was such a great opportunity to talk to lots of parents when they came to pick up their kids. It was a good way to meet San Carlos people and introduce them to church. Then this last Sunday we had 100 people at church. Some as a result of VBS. One young guy about 9 years old, didn’t want to go home. Today he is probably sad not to be at church. That’s cool! He is probably a pastor in the making.
Mayra, and the many volunteers did an exception job. And our SCCC youth were awesome working with the kids. How did we get so blessed?!
Tommy & Renee came with 17 people. A bit of a stop over in their travels. So, they all joined us before they continued their trip with their mobile VBS ministry.
Such an awesome community of believers.
Ladies Mountain Movers: A time when the ladies gather and pray. Please join then, ladies, or enter a prayer request on the web site “Prayer Wall.” And then expect to see results!
Men’s Breakfast and Study: Bob Burr is leading this week and will be facilitating a study on Spiritual Gifts. Come on over to Tequila’s on Thursday (8:30am)
Daniel Study: Starts Wednesday July 17 @ 1:30 pm in the church. A look at the book of Daniel and his prophesy, times, and life. Bring a Bible, pen and paper or equivalent.
Please take advantage of our Prayer Wall – The Prayer Wall on our church website is a great way to keep informed of the needs of our church family and/or to request prayer for a need you have.

Pastor Glenn:  Thanks, Pastor for a good video greeting last Sunday.

The Righteousness of God

We started a short series on Romans and the righteousness of God. We looked at 1:16-17. “I am not ashamed of the gospel …’’ Which usually takes us into a message about salvation, but our look was that the gospel which we are not ashamed of, reveals to us the righteousness of God. Then we went through eight chapters of Romans studying that as a true statement. Now I think I owe ten minutes to the congregation for an earlier exit next Sunday.
The point was that we all fail to keep the Law and that our unrighteousness proves God to be righteous, because he is extremely patient in waiting for us to accept the salvation offered. (See 2:4.)
We failed to keep the Law and the Law, itself, and the Prophets cry out for justice, a demand for death for all who fail. But God fulfills that requirement through Jesus and thus satisfies the Law and the Prophets.
We examined how according to Romans seven, one is released from a marriage vow, and that now I am released from the Law. Why? Because the Law is dead, via Jesus Christ death, no, more by his resurrection and that He in his death satisfied the Law. Therefore, I am released from the Law. Now my choice is do I want to live by the Spirit or by the Law? Do I want to live according to the flesh or by the spirit? Well I tried the former and now I will live in the Spirit and that of Christ.
Therefore, I am justified. 8:1, I am adopted 8:14-15, I am IN Christ 8:38-39
I am not ashamed of the gospel; it does reveal the righteousness of God. Next Sunday we will continue to see in chapters nine to eleven how His sovereignty reveals that He is righteous.

God bless your day! Pastor Chuck
