Good Day to You.  Yes she is still there! The house mother now has six teenage girls. They don’t speak English and mom doesn’t speak much Spanish. Well talk about the ‘gift of tongues!’ It really is amazing to watch their interaction. They communicate very well in spite of the language difference.

Do you remember who I am telling you about? My wife and I went to visit them and taught them a Bible lesson and taught them how to make copper bracelets. Then there was the TV wall mount and no TV. Yep, a Canadian biker (of course) stepped in and bought that. Then the manager of a local thrift store gave the girls ten puzzles from the store and friends.

This past week we went to another town near by. We were furniture shopping. The second store we went into had the perfect dresser. A little bit of price haggling and we bought it with money donated by a lady from church. We loaded it in my friends’ truck and down the road we went. It was a perfect trip.

Upon delivery to the house, the house mom was so excited when we carried it in. It is long and has six drawers. It would be perfect except for the mirror. It is one of those three-piece mirrors that fold so that you can see three sides of you. Yep, I can see the struggle of each girl swarming the house moms’ room to use that fancy mirror. Mom is delighted. Thank you to the lady who donated the money for the dresser. Next, a clothes hanger thingy.

I should be retired. It is that age when most retire and sit about and watch TV or go lawn bowling and fishing. But what is the fun in that? This is so much fun. I am investing my old age security money with an investment firm and investing my time in people. The lady who paid for the dresser and the biker who bought the TV; they made their investment too. The man with the truck, and the store manager who gathered the puzzles; they made an investment too.

In a time when the cry is about ‘it is for the greater good’ etc. how about doing something to invest in another person. Do some good for another person that gives you no recognition at all! When we come to our ‘senior’ years (yuk) invest more in another person. When it comes to being counter culture; invest in another person. What are you doing with the resources you have? What are you investing your money and time in? You know what the house mom needed? To know that God heard her prayers for a dresser and that she was cared for. Do you know what the girls needed? Yes a TV of course (they are teenagers!) but they needed attention and our time.

The adventure continues! Oh this is fun!

My message this past Sunday was on “Perfection’ Matthew 5:48 You can see it on FB or hear the audio on the web site. The links are below. It has been a perfect week!

Blessings, Pastor Chuck.

Service will also be LIVE on  https://www.facebook.com/sancarloscommunitychurch/  in English. The pastoral staff is available to meet with individuals as needed.  Please join us this Sunday

You can listen to these messages @; http://sancarloscommunitychurch.com/streaming_christian_audio_sermons.php

You can also watch the worship service on Facebook. You do not need an account. But as San Carlos is growing and it adds more demand on the available wifi service providers, it affects the upload of our video feed. If the “live” feed you are receiving is interrupted we encourage you to please return and go the page and bring up “Videos” and you will find the recorded video for each Sunday.
