Pastor’s Desk, “I am Free!”

Chuck Sheridan Avatar

Good Day to You.  After service Sunday we slipped away to an undisclosed pool side location (Mark and Patricia are in their new home) and had a pool baptism. A couple of pictures and a video are on our fb page. It was a real celebration! Edith had been in another religion for 26 years and was still trying to meet the Lord. When you start talking to her about Jesus she gets all weepy, she is so in love with the Treasure she has found. If you watch the video, as she comes from the water she throws her arms up and shouts in joy and I heard her say, “I am free!” It was a beautiful moment. Please pray for her.

It seems like it was the last century that my brother and I were sitting in a coffee shop and we overheard a conversation getting more excited. The two men were discussing and then arguing over which make of car was better Saab or Volkswagen. Right my story isn’t true! But it could have been anything that people use to separate each other from one another and judge each other.

Here we are in the early part of the 21century and we still are judging each other and lacking tolerance that the other person may have different opinions than I. Have we learned anything in the last 100 years? As a Christian I am called to a higher standard. I need to be a trend setter for my community. Setting the example by words and actions of forgiveness, tolerance and mercy. Let us be known as the people who started a tread of forgiveness and tolerance for what is different.

Last Sunday my message was from Luke 6:37, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” We explored the text and yep, so often we get it wrong. But I am not explaining myself here. You can watch the fb video or go to our web site and hear the audio.

Lastly, the July Financial Summary, we finished the month in excellent position. The leadership of SCCC wants to thank you for your faithfulness in giving and tithes. It is this writers experience that as we are faithful to God, He is more than faithful to us.

Blessings, Pastor Chuck. Next Sunday; Matthew 5:48 Perfection. It will make the perfectionist among us crazy!

We will be open for public worship services this Sunday. STRICT regulations are being kept regarding facemasks, and hand sanitizer. Service will also be LIVE on  https://www.facebook.com/sancarloscommunitychurch/  in English and later in Spanish. The pastoral staff is available to meet with individuals as needed.  Please join us this Sunday

You can listen to these messages @; http://sancarloscommunitychurch.com/streaming_christian_audio_sermons.php

You can also watch the worship service on Facebook. You do not need an account. But as San Carlos is growing and it adds more demand on the available wifi service providers, it affects the upload of our video feed. If the “live” feed you are receiving is interrupted we encourage you to please return and go the page and bring up “Videos” and you will find the recorded video for each Sunday.

We tried something a bit different. A voice over in Spanish. Now our service will be in English and Spanish on Facebook.
