Good Morning SCCC Family,
* Jeannine and I had a great week in Mazatlan. Most of all, we enjoyed the “bucket list” road from Mazatlan to Durango. It was worth every centavo of the 500 peso toll. 58 Tunnels (one was 2.8 klms or just over 2 miles long, several more 1 klm long), 115 bridges, two suspension bridges, one of which is now the highest suspension bridge in the world. A “google search” of this bridge will reveal some amazing pictures. Apparently three football fields, end to end, could stand underneath the bridge.

* I pray the message this last weekend caused you to respond to the challenge to “pray about” one specific item/event in your life this week. Jesus, while being misunderstood for who He was and while knowing people wanted to kill Him, dealt with His challenges by going to the Father in prayer, by surrounding Himself with disciples who He invited to pray with Him, and by trusting that God knew exactly what was going on. The challenge for each of us is not to overlook the precious model Jesus gave to us as He faced this “Holy Week”. Is there something you need to put to prayer this week, which you’ve just kind of given up on? Why not invite God into your story?

* Pray for Devon & Marisol as they are headed back to Canada this week. They are hoping to raise the funds needed to cover the next stages of the development of the feeding program in Independencia in Guaymas. This young couple is following hard after God, giving up much of what in our minds, represents a “financially secure” future, in order to obediently follow God in the call He has on their life. Please pray that God will give them favor with the people who they will invite to partner with them in this much needed ministry.

* Wednesday and Thursday – Semana Santa – an event for the children in San Carlos and area. Folks, let’s pray that God will touch the lives of these children as Mayra leads this outreach this week. Praise God for the volunteers that have stepped forward. It was really neat to meet a new couple at church on Sunday, who said, “we do balloon animals”, can we help? What a precious heart they showed. There are still other areas where you could help, (even if you don’t know Spanish). Email Mayra if you’d like to be involved at mayglez@gmail.com.

 * Please keep praying for Mary & Jeff Sprague. Mary begins radiation up in Tucson on April 28th. Thank you to the persons who volunteered to give her a ride up to Tucson. I love the generosity of you folks at SCCC. You are so amazing.

* Please note the opportunity to partner with Gabriela Cisneros as she shares regularly in the Women’s prison in Guaymas. She is often made aware of their needs – for example – needs for the infants whose Mother has given birth to them during their prison confinement. Gabriela has a great opportunity to make an impact on these Moms on Children’s Day which is April 30. Contact her at:
gabrielamonte2001@yahoo.com if you’d like to help.

Don’t forget – “Good Friday” Service at 10:00 am at the Church. Looking forward to this monumental day in the life of all believers.

Praying for safe travels for all of you who are heading back North again this week and in the weeks to come. We’ll miss you and will be looking forward to your return this fall. We are also looking forward to the events and ministries which will be unfolding here this summer. Praying that God will encourage and challenge all of us in our respective locations. He is such a good God!

Praying you have a great week!
Pastor Glenn y Jeannine
