Good Morning SCCC Family,

* Turtles, dolphins and sea lions – I know we saw over a hundred dolphins dancing around in our tour on the Sea of Cortez. Its an amazing sight to see so many and jumping so high, some of them playing at the stern as we headed out  past the Island. Turtles seemed to be as prevalent. What looked like little mounds from a distant, most often turned out to be an enormous turtle swimming along, some as far as 15 miles from shore. Simply amazing! Didn’t hook any fish on Tuesday, but had a wonderful time anyway. Thanks Bob & Ruth!

* Marcela and Hiram joined us the other evening for their first premarital session. How exciting to spend time with this couple who want to make God the center of their home. They are looking forward to their October 25thwedding day. It would be so awesome if our new ministry center could be ready in time for their wedding!

* YES, Mary’s home at last! So good to see you at church last Sunday! Thanks for sharing your appreciative words with us last Sunday!

* We are praising the Lord with Walt & Christie for the arrival of their first great granddaughter “Ellie”. As you may know, there were a number of health concerns prior to her birth, and there will still need to be further surgeries, but she has arrived and is doing quite well.

* More guests in church again! Such a treat and a bunch of kids in Children’s Church again. I’m still thinking the median age is going down. But what a wonderful treat to see the church develop in a way which will allow it to flouish beyond “our” time.

 * Praise God for the initial responses we’ve had on finishing our new ministry center. We now have roughly $6640. USD given or designated toward the completion of our new ministry center. Wouldn’t you consider how you might participate in completing this project? Check out your options at the end of this note!

* God does provide once again. As I mentioned last week, Heather Rix will be filling in for the first two weeks while Mayra is in Dallas and now Marcela Rodriguez will fill in the rest of the time. Thank you Heather and Marcela!!! Just what we needed, God once again provided!

* Mayra leaves for Dallas this Thursday. Once again, I ask you pray for her as she helps, encourages and spends time with this special mentor in her life.

* “Faithfulness” was our subject last Sunday. We understand that God is faithful in all He does and likewise, He challenges us to be faithful not only to Him, but to our spouses as well. So we looked at some preventative maintenance ideas for marriage. We recently met with one very courageous couple whose marriage has been devastated by an affair and who are determined to rebuild their marriage. Their brokenness confirmed the very specific need for “preventative” maintenance on marriage. The long term repercussions, the loss of friends, the feelings of extended family, the personal cost to both parties in the marriage, not just the offender, all come into play. I praise God for their walk with Him and for their personal determination to restore their marriage. They have courage and I believe they will succeed, but oh, what a challenging task. Jesus reminds us that temptation begins in our thought center, in our minds. So if you know of someone who is “dabbling” with temptation, this message might encourage them to look at some preventative maintenance ideas. Find the mnessage online at www.sancarloscommunitychurch.com.

Enjoy your journey with Jesus!
