Good Morning Church Family,
* It is “Holy Week” around the world this week. In Mexico, we call it “Semana Santa” and for SCCC, that means the next two days are dedicated to sharing this message of grace and forgiveness with the kids and families of San Carlos, Guaymas and maybe, even a little further!

            Mayra put an invitation to this event on the church’s facebook and this morning, it says that 14,177 people have been reached by this invitation. I don’t know what that means, in terms of how many people will show up this morning, but I do know, that typically at best, less than a 1000 people are reached by one of our facebook posts! The response has been utterly incredible – people writing for directions to the church and so forth!
            This is a wonderful opportunity for us to link hands and to pray that God will touch the lives of these kids and families and that we’ll see many of them give their hearts to Christ! Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed up to help. If you simply want to stop by and check it out, please feel free to do so. Events get under way this morning at 10am.
* This Sunday will be your last opportunity to participate in the special Missions Offering. The goal is 15,000, but we also have a matching gift of up to 20,000 USD. Imagine with me, if together, we raised 20,000, we could boost our Missions fund to the tune of 40,000 USD in this designated two week period of time. I think its totally possible, don’t you? Missions is such a large part of who we are. Its our dna at SCCC and we are grateful for all your support in keeping our missions program in the front lines. Thank you for your generosity.
            Remember you can also give online at our church website and be included in this matching gift. But you’ve got to do it by April 1, 2018. Please respond to this email if you have given online so that your gift amount can be included in the matching funds.
* Good Friday Service with our new missionary friends from Louisiana, the Clements. Scott will be sharing the message with communion to follow! Please join us for this most meaningful service in the believer’s life – 9:00 am this Friday!
* Next Monday, April 2 @ 6:00PM – Monday night at the Movies “The Climb” – from Billy Graham’s World Wide Pictures: Two hotshot solo climbers forge an uneasy friendship in order to reach their ultimate summit.  Their teamwork escalates into a test of wills, character and sacrifice that pushes both men beyond their limits.  Starring Jason George, Ned Vaughn, Todd Bridges, Clifton Davis, and Dabney Coleman.
* Prayer – go to

  • Missionary of the Week: Rob & Sherry Kehler (Indigenous Peoples)
  • Deacon of the Week: Ruben Bustos
  • Semana Santa Event this week.

* Last Sunday, we finished our study of Haggai, affectionately referred to as “Hey Guy”. Throughout our study, we have seen a life of following Christ is a life, that for the Jews, just like us, is a life of ups and downs. There are all kinds of things which can distract us from keeping Christ at the center of our lives – from self-focus to life’s disappointments to busy-ness and so on. The reality is that each one of these robs us of the contentment and peace (blessing) God desires for us to experience. Its ironic, isn’t it, how easy it is to lose focus? I have been personally challenged to stick with Jesus, through all the ups and downs, cause like we saw on Sunday, in the end – God wins and if we’re on His Team, so do we!
Hope to see you all this “Good” Friday @ 9:00 am and then on Easter Sunday!

Praying you all have a great week,
Glenn & Jeannine
