Good Morning SCCC Family,

* This week, I was reminded of three main themes from the book of Revelation:
1. God is Sovereign. He is fully in charge and is on His Throne. No matter the changes around us – God has not changed.
2. Things are going to get worse before they get better. We need to be willing to count the cost if we are going to follow Jesus.
3. We are Overcomers – we win in the end!

* On Sunday, we looked at the return of Christ as seen in I Thessalonians 4:13-18. We looked briefly at the Pre/Mid/Post tribulational philosophies but the reality once again, is that while the order of events at Jesus’ return can be fun to explore and debate, the critical issue of this passage is not when or how He will return. I have jokingly stated in the past that I have assumed a new end time philosophy. Yep, I’m a Pan Tribber. I believe it will all “pan” out in the end. But all kidding aside, the issue is – are we ready for His Return? Are we living in a state of expectancy of His return? Does the thought of His return propel us to share our faith with those around us and to help others to grow in their faith? He is coming back!

* Over 50 requests have been posted to our “Prayer Wall” at this point. In the short time, its been available, we’ve already seen positive answers to over 20 of those requests. A number of the other prayer requests are ongoing needs and even some of those are being up updated with positive results. So grateful for all God is doing in the lives of SCCC families. If you’re looking for a way to add to your devotional times, consider taking a few moments to pray for some of these requests.

* You will notice several new requests this week, One from Pam, whose daughter’s baby will be delivered much earlier than normal for medical reasons. Gabriela shares a request from her prison ministry. She is also participating with Job Sierra in a VBS in the towns of Cuba and Nuri. CeCe has added an update on Chuy. Check out the numerous requests on the Prayer Wall. You will find much more detail there.

* One of our prayer requests was answered in a different way than we had hoped. I received a note from Maureen & Bob Davis sharing that her brother in law Ric Enfeldt passed away on Tuesday morning after a courageous battle with cancer. Praying that your family will experience God’s peace in the days to come!

* Freda Tolliver had a nasty fall last week. Her right arm is fractured/broken and she is in a great deal of pain. Please be praying for her and Mickey!

* Justin McLean shared with me on Sunday that they are seeing up to ten San Carlos youth attending their Friday Youth Nights. Most of these are brand new to our church. We celebrate the blessings of God on this brand new ministry. Thanks Justin! So glad to see God working through your life in this way.

* I still marvel at the guests we have coming through SC during this “warmer” season and once again, we had several of these families in church. George & Guadalupe Scott were back after being gone for a year and a half. The Van Dam family joined us from CA. James Klassen and his friend Kristy are visiting from Manitoba, Mike, Allison & Arianna Wright were there and others who I didn’t get a chance to meet. Ruthanne and Paulette each brought a friend along and I’m probably missing others. Even though we hear so much disappointing news from our media, God is still at work touching the lives of people all around us. When people are hungry, our God will always respond and grace us with His Presence.

* Our Children’s Camp is only 2 weeks away. So grateful for those of you who have invested financially in the kids who might not otherwise be able to come. We are praying that God will give us favor with many children in our community and that we will see new young ones give their hearts to Christ. Pray for Mayra as she prepares and as she seeks out volunteers.

Enjoy your journey with Jesus,
Glenn y Jeannine
