Chuck Sheridan Avatar

Good Morning to you all,

Last evening, our entire pastoral team met at our home for dinner. What a treat to spend some time getting to know each other a little better. Chuck & Lynn, Mayra, Selene and Jeannine & myself shared a few stories, a little about family and a lot about life events (no secrets to be shared in this forum, lol). We are so blessed to have this team come together and as a team, we are grateful and full of anticipation as we look forward to serving our church family.

It’s been fun sharing this role with Chuck and swapping ministry responsibilities with him as he climatizes to our church and our church family. They’ve connected with a number of couples already and its so rewarding to observe both Chuck and Lynn’s interaction with the folks at the church. I think we are blessed.

Installation Service on Sunday, May 19 Please Note Change of Date: We will be taking some time to officially welcome the Sheridans to our pastoral staff at SCCC. Please join us as we celebrate their arrival and pray for God’s empowerment and guidance in their lives as they serve our church family.

Baptism on Sunday, May 26: We have two people who have expressed a desire to be baptized on May 26. Ricky Kirk and his Grandmother Donna Kirk will both be baptized. Their stories are so encouraging and we are looking forward to this very special time. Its always a good day when we see believers following the Lord’s plan for us.

Men’s Breakfast and Study: Harv Teitzel is leading this week and will be facilitating a discussion on “Communion”. Come on over to Tequila’s on Thursday (8:30am)

Cookie Sunday Changes – this coming Sunday. Maybe, you like have some chocolate chip type cookies you’d like share? Just a thought? Its such a great opportunity to introduce yourself to new guests & newer attendees.

Please take advantage of our Prayer Wall on our church website: to either share a prayer request or to include these prayers in your prayer time. Simply click on the following link: This is a great way to stay in touch with the needs of our church family while we’re away for the summer! Allow me to name a few:

  1. Chuck Morton – hip surgery went well. He is in rehab in Tucson.
  2. Tracey – surgery went well, waiting on pathology report
  3. Bee – Jeff & Bee Kyle really need our prayers as she battles cancer.

Sermon ReviewOn Sunday, we continued in our “Wheel of Fortune” (Context) series by looking at the statement, “Do not Judge.” While that statement is used by Christians and non Christians alike, it is often misunderstood. Jesus did not say, “Do not judge” followed by an exclamation mark…but rather followed it with a clarification of what type of judgments to make and how to make them. This isn’t a prohibition against judging. But, it is a stern warning against judging improperly. The sermon in a sentence – “We are to avoid critical judgementalism, while embracing careful judgment.” Review the entire message at , click on “Audio Sermons.”
Praying you have a wonderful week,
Pastor Glenn & Jeannine
