Good Morning to You, so they say this is hot? I am still not worried. What is hot is what is happening at church. Worship has been awesome. The fellowship has been honest. And I so enjoying the SCCC community. The struggle has been all of the shift. People come and then go. And this is part of the SCCC community, but it is vacation time and it is just a constant flow. Yet in this constant flow of people coming ‘home’ and leaving, the same spirit is amongst us and nothing seems to change. Other than me trying to keep track of such a big family/community. What else I have observed is the grace for one another. God is in this house.
Sometimes we measure the presence of God by some exciting manifestation. And that may be right, but I also see the presence of God in the presence of family, community and care in the house. There is a manifestation of God at SCCC, it is in the grace and love that I see Him!
Further in this message is our June financial report. It reads to me that June was a better month than May, but we still are below our monthly requirement. Please read on and email us if you have questions.
This Sunday: It is Cookie Sunday. (another manifestation of God?) A time when we meet on the church veranda for fellowship and the producing of cookie crumbs. How does it happen? If you can, bake some cookies. If not, just show up.
Ladies Mountain Movers: A time when the ladies gather and pray. And wow, can they pray! Some Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m., I can hear them all the way to my office. I am sure mountains are being moved. Look out San Carlos, the ladies are praying.
Men’s Breakfast and Study: Jesse is leading this week and will be facilitating a study on Faith & Works. This should be interesting. Come on over to Tequila’s on Thursday (8:30am)
Our Prayer Wall – The Prayer Wall on our church website is a great way to keep informed of the needs of our church family and/or to request prayer for a need you have.
July Sermon Series: This moth we have been exploring the Righteousness of God. We finish this coming Sunday with how that calls us to Service in Righteousness, as we are his children reflecting God’s character. Then July 28, Pastor Mayra will be sharing a message on Grace!

Sermon Summary: “Sovereignty of God proves His Righteousness”
We worked our way through chapters 9-11. First, we look at 9:4 and observed “six belongs” that were as merits given to Israel. i) Receivers of Adoption, ii) Observers of Glory, iii) Holders of Covenant, iv) Guardians of the Law, v) Revealers of Worship, vi) Receivers of the Promise.
But Israel rejected Christ who is the message and fulfillment of the Law, yet God withholds his wrath and demonstrates his righteousness. He chooses to extend his offer to a people who did not look for him (see Hosea 2:3, and 9:25.) The Gentiles now are receivers of grace and the Six Belongs. The Gentiles are righteous by faith while Israel is in it’s self righteousness by Law and fails. Chapter 10:4 declares that Christ is the end of the Law and all who believe maybe righteous based upon their confession of faith 10:9-10.
God has chosen this manner to offer righteousness and justification to the Gentiles to produce in Israel a jealousy as the Gentiles are grafted into the Covenant. How can God do this? We looked and observed the illustration of the vinedresser of 11:17-24. His end purpose is not the exclusion of Israel, but that a remnant might be saved and that ultimately all Israel will be saved. It is amazing that God in his vastness and sovereignty chooses this path. But he does so because he is a righteous God.
Bless you my friends. Pastor Chuck.
