Good Day to You, on Sunday we were blessed with several guests at church. It was good to have visitors. I think a couple of ladies came just to hear Mayra preach. She did a fine job. The worship was flawless and I believe many of us felt the presence of Jesus in the room.
This coming week we say good-bye to Ed and Jennifer. They have participated in our church with all they could. There will be a hole left in our community. Jerry Lebo also left. He has moved back to his family in the USA. I sure enjoyed his visits and his stories. He is a character. These people will be missed.
What is true is that the kingdom of God is wherever his people are. And those leaving, those here and those returning to us, are all still of the kingdom of God. So, we will meet again, meet next Sunday and meet in the upcoming seasons. I am still encouraged while still sad in the absences of some.

Sermon Review The Heart of Man Matthew 15:10-20 by Mayra Gonzalez

The message Sunday morning was by Mayra Gonzalez. She spoke from the parable in Matthew 15:10-20 about the Heart of Man. It is an explanation about what defiles a person is not what food they eat, or what dietary religious laws they fail to keep. The body is designed to eliminate waste and to deal with consumption that may be harmful or infectious to us.
We are defiled by what we consume into our mind and then assimilate into our heart. Little by little this consumption builds in us and we permit it to shape and mould us. While food may define and control our shape, our thought consumption shapes our heart.
Food consumption is designed to have an exit and what is in our hearts also finds an exit. We can often tell what is in a person and at the core of them, but what words they use, how they speak of others and how they respond to relationships and events. They became this person, the place they are at in their heart, by what they consumed into their mind and it will come out in words and actions.
So, the lesson to us here is, what I take into my mind will determine the shape of my heart and be revealed in my words. Here is a question we all must ask, what ‘table’ am I feeding my mind at?
My response to this needs to be to guard my heart by what I feed my mind. What I feed my mind is assimilated to my heart and will be revealed in my actions and words.
Proverbs 4:23 says, “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.” I have to pay attention to what I consume constantly! I don’t want to be a destroyer of others, yet my very words have the power to give life to someone or to destroy and take them apart. Which type of person would I want to be? I want to be the one who gives life to people. Therefore, I must have a source within me to do that. In order to have the source, I have to have the right input. Here I go again…. What ‘table’ am I feeding at?
