Good Morning SCCC Family,

* So you’re retired! Well, we’d like to add additional value and purpose to that retirement experience. The desire of our church leadership is to create a stronger connection between our church family and our supported missions; to add value to our attenders by facilitating ways to serve and to add value to our missions by offering on site helps, completing tasks which may otherwise not get done. Last weekend you got to hear from Brandon Baird during the service. Brandon and Bethany moved here almost a year ago and they have a passion to create connections. Brandon is presently meeting with each of our local ministries, looking for ways to “connect those dots.” So on Sunday, he shared the need of three of our missions (Jesse & Jenny; Maggies and Brian & Clarissa) and the end result is that 7 or 8 people were able to help with the very tasks that needed completion this week. Knowing that some of these places are difficult to find, Brandon has also provided a ride to the sites involved. Be watching in January as we continue to unveil precious opportunities for you to add “value” to your life.

* We are looking for a projector screen to use at Tequila’s on Thursday mornings. If you have one available or know where we could get one, please contact Steve at

* The down town train station ministry “Dream Center” (Pastor Gilberto and Candy) have asked for donations of any used shoes – both adult and children’s footwear, that will be given to those who attend their Saturday morning program.  Please leave them in the box in the church foyer.

* YES, 560 backpacks plus another 50 baby packs, perfectly filled in less than 1 ½ hours yesterday. Hats off to Brenda for the amazing organization which allowed the backpacks to be filled with “age appropriate” materials including school supplies, hygiene items, some toys and candy and a very attractive booklet containing the Book of John. Pastor Job Sierra, who you got to hear on Sunday, already received 60 packs to take with him back to the villages he serves. Other packs are going out this week as well. Thank you for your generosity and help in filling these packs and thank you Brenda for keeping us so organized in our work. It was a real treat to see it done so well.

* This Thursday, 5:30 pm, POTLUCK at the church. It’s a great time of food, fun and fellowship. If possible, bring a dish of some sort and let’s get together for another great event.

* CEC (the Bible School behind the church) is hosting an Italian Dinner Fundraiser this December, Thursday, the 18th at 5:30pm.  Please mark your calendars and come join us for an evening of great food, fellowship, and testimony from students sharing what God is doing in their ministry after coming to CEC. There is no cost for the dinner, it is by donation, if you can attend please sign up on the sheet at the back of the church.

* “Spanish Class” Update – we have a potential option for what would initially be more of a “beginner class” coming in January, with a possibility of a more advanced class several months later. It looks like we may be able to offer this class on a “donation only” basis. The beginner class will be on Fridays from 4-6pm. If you’re interested, please reply to this email.

* This weekend, (Sat @5pm and Sun @ 9am) we’ll continue our series on Grace. We looked at “Forgiving Ourselves” last weekend. This weekend, we’ll look at “Forgiving Others”. What does forgiveness mean? How does forgiveness and trust intersect? Do I let someone “off the hook” when I forgive them? Is forgiving someone about me or about the one who offended me? Why not join us this weekend as we look at this “everyday” impacting issue that all of us deal with!

* Please note that you can listen to any of the previous messages online at

Enjoy your journey with Jesus,
Glenn y Jeannine
