It is a good Day, Hello! I remember a Christian tv show called, “It’s a New Day.” The idea being that everyday was a fresh start. And that is true. Now many of us are on the new year theme and maybe this year will be better? Or we make the dreadful “New Years Resolution.” I stopped doing that years ago, I had too many fails.

And here we are in 2022, with another fresh year. I will be optimistic about this year. Jesus is my Lord and guide. We will do well. Here at SCCC we move into another start. A new year and many changes placed upon us and many changes we are embracing. We will do well. We will be led by the spirit of God.

We have been praying for a baby who was burned, and I can report she is home and doing well. Also one of the men from our congregation was very ill. He has returned from the hospital in AZ and at home and getting stronger. Good news for a new year start.

Hey, last Sunday we celebrated Hildegard’s 85th birthday on the veranda with cupcakes. She has been attending here for 33 years! She is such a cheerful lady. If you get to know her and hear her story it is amazing what she has seen in her life and travels. She is such an encouragement and so joyful.

This coming Sunday is “Cookie Sunday.” This is a time of fellowship around the cookie table outside on the veranda. Now in order to make sure we have enough cookies; last time we had everyone whose name began with a consonant letter bring cookies. This week if your last name ends in a vowel you are exempt from bringing cookies. This is to create order and be sure we have enough cookies. Please cooperate.

We celebrated the Lord’s Table this last Sunday. We examined the scripture, 1 Corinthians 11:27-31 as we proceeded through our time together. It is a time to think through what Jesus did for us. But there is more than just a remembrance here. It is that we are making a proclamation of his Lordship and symbolically taking Jesus, into us. It is as if we are saying Jesus, “I am willing to be part of you.” Another time in the future I think I will take more time to unpack all that is there for us to explore. The Word of God is so deep.
