Good morning church!

Mission Sunday or Mission Fest. Is this Sunday January 30. Our emphasis is to get involved with the mission ministries and opportunities in our area. We will have all these ministries available for you to visit as we have a lunch together. We are asking you to bring cold salads and deserts. The church will supply rolls and meat. You can have lunch as you visit various table displays and talk with the mission ministries that are associated with SCCC. It will be a great time to know them and the opportunities you have to be involved.

Sunday;  Funny enough, I said to my wife just before service began, I just had a sense something was wrong. It was just a feeling. Then part way through my message I realized my sermons notes were out of order. That was frustrating. Now in hindsight I could have said, “Alright, let’s just stop and take a moment, and reflect…” But instead I confessed close my notes and just shot from the hip what I had learned.

My question is and was, is there something we can learn from Judas the betrayer to not be like him and maybe how are we like him? I know in some conditions we and I could be a little Judas. I guess we could be loud and sure like Peter that we will never fail Jesus. But how did Peter do? So now I am not so sure. The trick is to lean heavily on Jesus and never be too sure of yourself. That is where the failure would start, being too self reliant. Slip the trap of expecting what is not reasonable. “I thought Jesus would…” Or trying to apply an agenda on Jesus or any leadership and then being disappointed and then disillusioned. I think that is what happened to Judas. I pray it never happen to us!

Blessings, Pastor Chuck. Next Sunday – “Missions”

We will be open for public worship services Sunday. STRICT regulations are being kept regarding facemasks. Service will also be LIVE on Facebook. You do not need an account. But as San Carlos is growing and it adds more demand on the available wifi service providers, it affects the upload of our video feed. If the “live” feed you are receiving is interrupted we encourage you to please return and go the page and bring up “Videos” and you will find the recorded video for each Sunday.
